With the 24th pick in the 2022 NBA Draft, the Milwaukee Bucks selected G MarJon Beauchamp from the G League Ignite.
The 6'5" Beauchamp averaged 15.7 PPG and 6.4 RPG with the G League Ignite last season. He has an ability to make plays off the ball and has a huge 7-foot-1 wingspan as a guard. His defense took great steps forward in the G League last season and can be a valuable player on both sides of the ball.
Beauchamp is a great athlete and possesses the agility necessary to succeed as a wing in the NBA. Adding depth to the wing positions on the roster was one of the Bucks' biggest needs heading into this draft and they were able to address that here with the addition of Beauchamp.
He can push the ball in transition, can score at all three levels, and is a solid rebounder. There is some added development that Beauchamp needs, he needs to add strength to his frame and improve some of his decision making, but that's nothing that quality coaching and a good strength and conditioning program can't fix. The ceiling is somewhat high here, but it may take a while for him to fully reach it. But in the short term, he adds important wing depth for the Bucks.
