Family Asks For Help Finding Missing Moreno Valley Teen

Aranda Isabel Briones was last seen on January 13 at the Moreno Valley Community Park. She's a 16 year old from Moreno Valley, and her family is now speaking out in worries that the missing teen could be hurt or in serious trouble.

“One of her friends texted me, ‘I hope Aranda got home okay,’ and I was like ‘Okay’ and I went upstairs to check and she was gone,” the girl’s uncle, Matthew Horstkotte said when he first found out she was missing.

Since January 13, her family has been passing out flyers in the hopes that someone in the community will recognize her.

“The person that dropped her off said she got in a gray four door sedan, and after that. her phone was off,” Horstkotte said.

Aranda hasn't responded to any calls or texts since that day. Her family says that is very out-of-character.

“She cares about everyone, and there’s like a hole in my heart ’cause she’s missing,” Horstkotte said.

Moreno Valley Police and Detectives have been searching for the girl since January 14.

“Her friend said that she was on Snapchat and saw that she was in the Riverside area and asked her, ‘What are you doing in Riverdale?’ and the location went off," he added.

The community is planning a search party event for 11 a.m. Tuesday morning at the Moreno Valley Community Park.
