Tim Allen Reveals How Cancellation of 'Last Man Standing' Really Went Down

INJOComedian Tim Allen, star of the canned “Last Man Standing” sitcom, recently opened up about ABC’s decision to cancel the popular show.

“It tore me up,” Allen told The San Luis Obispo Tribune. “Every aspect of [that show], everything about it, I loved. I was grateful every day.”

“The fact that it showed great diversity of thought and entertainment, they dismissed. That didn’t seem to matter. [...] I think they made a terrible mistake with a very creative project. It could have done so many things.”

The “Last Man Standing” cancellation in May came as a surprise, leaving Allen“stunned and blindsided.” The show, a spin-off the comedian’s hit ’90s sitcom “Home Improvement,” was ABC’s second-most popular comedy, coming right behind “Modern Family.”
